Carol McElya is The Cotton Board’s Office Manager, acting as the main point of contact for The Cotton Board’s members, clients, and the public while managing the day-to-day operations of the Memphis headquarters office. Carol works closely with the VP of Operations regarding customer service and office management. She is also involved with calendar/travel management for the President & CEO, as well as providing board administration support and meeting planning under the supervision of the Director of Oversight and Administration. Before joining the staff of The Cotton Board, Carol worked in the hardwood lumber industry as the Project Manager for a national trade association, where she managed the daily operations of the lumber grading school, as well as assisting the Chief Inspector with the hardwood export program. She received an Applied Associate of Science Degree from NEMCC in Booneville, MS. Carol is originally from Savannah, TN but has resided in Bartlett, TN since her marriage to Mike McElya in 1994; they have one daughter and two grandchildren.
The Cotton Board consist of 16 employees, 10 are located at the Memphis, TN headquarters while six work remotely in their primary regions.
