(Memphis, TN) --The Cotton Board has promoted Emily Wyonzek to Vice President of Operations for the organization.
Bill Gillon, President and CEO of The Cotton Board, stated, “Emily has demonstrated the kind of dedication, management skills, and commitment to innovation that are the hallmarks of successful leaders. Among other things, she has directed the Human Resource operations of The Cotton Board, managed our four Regional Communications Managers, and helped guide the strategic priorities of the organization. Specifically, along with our Director of Communications, Emily and her team have used the Cotton & Coffee platform and strong Cotton Incorporated tour participation to ensure producer stakeholders in the Cotton Research and Promotion Program are more aware of the great work being done by Cotton Incorporated.”
Since being named Director of Operations in 2018, Emily has made it a priority to visit cotton producers, attend regional cotton events, and implement stronger internal management tools within the company.
Emily joined the Cotton Board in 2008 and has previously served as its HR Manager and Director of Operations. Wyonzek received her BA in Literature from Arkansas State University and MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Memphis.
Sonja Chapman, Chairman of the Cotton Board and an Importer from Boonton, New Jersey, stated, “The Cotton Board is privileged to have someone of Emily’s insight, dedication, and skill set as its Vice President of Operations. She has been an asset to the organization for many years and is a pleasure to work with. Emily has worked to enhance staff teamwork and community outreach for the Cotton Board, including Team Cotton’s significant contributions to St. Jude over the years. Emily is committed to the cotton industry and her community. We are excited that she will continue her great work as the Vice President of Operations.”
